Why we exist

Smile Casting began with a simple realisation. Georgina Morelle spent years working as a performer herself, and as a represented actor she was not getting what she needed from an agent. She knew what great representation should feel like: someone in your corner who fights for you, tells you the truth and opens the right doors. She also realised she could do that for other people.

Georgina had been casting for years before that. In 2018 she decided to stop waiting, bought a computer, taught herself how to build an agency from the ground up, and founded Smile Casting in London. It was built to be the representation she had wanted: informed, honest and relentless on behalf of its clients.

The talent

We are selective by design. Every performer on our roster is chosen for talent, professionalism and the quality they bring to a room, which is why casting directors trust a Smile Casting submission. Our clients have appeared in productions including The Crown, Silo, Supacell, Emmerdale and The Thursday Murder Club, in national campaigns for brands such as John Lewis, Tesco, Nike and Vodafone, and on stages and tours across the UK, throughout Europe and on other continents.

Working at the top table

We operate at the same level as the UK’s leading agencies, with the same standards and the same relationships. Our performers are regularly seen by the country’s major casting offices, broadcasters and production companies, and we are known for being quick, precise and prepared. When we put someone forward, it is because we are certain they are right for the role.

That is the difference a considered, hands-on agency makes. Every submission is deliberate, every client is known personally, and every conversation with a casting team is handled by someone who knows the performer inside out. As one casting director told us, Georgina is efficient, very helpful and a friendly communicator.

Range

Our roster covers the full spectrum of screen and stage work: leading actors and character performers, singers and dancers, actor-musicians, voiceover artists and ADR specialists, young performers supported by licensed chaperoning, couples and families, and animal talent. We also place performers on international tours and productions, so we are as comfortable booking a West End stage as a European tour or a job on the other side of the world. Our chaperoning service is available to productions working with young people.

Leadership

Smile Casting is led by Georgina Morelle, Founder and Head of Talent. Georgina began as an actor and has worked as a radio drive time presenter, a television presenter and a drama practitioner, with extensive experience in youth work and on productions including feature films. Before building the agency she worked in recruitment and in a range of people-facing roles, and she has always been at her best with people of every kind. Together that gives her an unusually rounded view of the industry, from both sides of the casting table. Meet the team.
